Beauty and the Beast

Friday, Payton and I joined some friends to see Beauty and the Beast. I think I was just as excited! Thankful for my mom who watched Jay. He wouldn't have sat still and Payton enjoyed some "girl" time with me.

She did great in movies and kept her glasses on half the time. All the girls wore their princess dresses and got to eat lunch before hand. Payton's favorite place at the mall to eat is Taco Bell. So like her Daddy! Two cheesy roll-ups and chips.

Blessed to spend the afternoon with my sweet girl!

Princess {Ballet}

Tickle Finger and Cuddles

So this week Payton has been cracking me and Randy up! She is serious in her conversations but they just make us giggle. I wanted to have them written down so that I don't forget.

Tickle Finger

While riding home in the car from school.

Payton: My tickle finger doesn't work anymore.

Me: Why?

Payton: Because it has a boo-boo on it. It has no tickles left.

Me: Do you mean this finger? {Me showing my pointer finger}

Payton: Yea.

Me: So you mean it doesn't tickle or you can't tickle anyone?

Payton: I can't tickle Jay anymore because of my boo-boo

Me: I'm sorry.

Payton: I need a band-aid for it.

Me: Okay, we can get one when we get home.

Cuddles

After she had gone to bed. She gets up and finds reasons to tell us stuff at the top of the stairs…major staler!!!

Payton: Mommy, I really like to cuddle.

Yesterday my mom treated us to the Nutcracker. It was Payton's first time so my mom was excited to start this tradition! Just us girls as Payton says.

It was pouring the rain so I was late and sat in the back the first half but joined my mom and Payton for the second half. Since it was so crazy outside, the pictures are from dinner.

We ate at Mary Macs Tearoom. Traditional southern food! Yum!

Thanksgiving {recap}

This Thanksgiving, we hosted at our house. We had my mom, brother and his wife, and my uncle and his family over for early dinner. The weather was GREAT so we got the kids outside and played. We also did Christmas due to us all being with other family over the Holidays. It was a fun way to start off the Christmas season.

These two were super excited to see their Aunt and Uncle. They enjoyed all the attention!

So every Christmas our family does a bourbon tasting. Randy made a yummy cocktail with homemade cherries. I even participated this year and I don't really care for any of it!

On friday we all headed to Botanical Gardens for the Lights. We got there when it was still light out but after it got dark it was super fun. A great way to get into the Holidays spirit!!!

Happy Haircut Day

We have had a great weekend doing Christmas stuff. Saturday us girls (me, mom, and pay) went to get our nails done!

Randy and I had a date night and headed to a Ugly Sweater party after dinner. Pretty tacky huh?

Bible Buddies

We have been blessed with a great preschool at our church. One day a week Payton goes to bible buddies along with her 3 days of her 3 year old class. I have loved that she comes home talking about the bible and Jesus!

Of course this month, they have been talking about the story of baby jesus. She has been coming home and telling us. Of course asking great questions too.

Here are a few:
Does Jesus' earthly mother Mary live in heaven too? (really?!?)
Well I can make Jesus' birthday cake but I will have to eat it since he isn't here.
How old is Jesus? Referring to his birthday.
Well was here (on earth) when I was two?

So Monday her class put on the story of baby Jesus and Payton was Mary. She did such a good job! We were proud parents as she carried out baby Jesus at the end.

I love that she knows the true meaning Christmas.

Just create the template on the computer, coffee sleeves, ribbon, and a little glue!

Added a cute travel mug and it made a great gift for the kids' teachers!

Okay testing out posting from my iPhone! Pretty cool if this works. So here are some pictures from Payton's class party on Thursday! She was excited because she got her ears pierced the night before. She was such a big girl. Her and daddy went to check it out and look at the earrings. After running an errand, she decided that she was going to do it! Such a big girl!!! She was so proud to show me.

Jay {18 Months}

Starting with Jay and his 18 month post before he turns 19 months next week. Watch out because I will be catching up with some blogging this week!!! You know your excited. :)

So yea, starting with an embarrassing picture that I'm sure one day you will die over. But for now, it's cute. You are a BUSY LITTLE BOY! Whew! You love to NOT wear clothes. You attempt many times of the day to take off your pants and have also tried your shirt. Your daily activity in the car is taking your shoes and socks off. You permanently wear onsie due to fear of you removing your diaper. So for nap and bedtime, we always find your pants on the floor.

You LOVE to snuggle and cuddle with anyone. Now that Nana has stayed with you for a week, y'all have bonded. You run up to her at church and give lots of hugs and kisses.

You LOVE to eat!! I thought this picture was perfect. For many reasons; one being that you love to eat and two being that you are so second child. We gave you an almost empty cup of hot chocolate and let you go to town. We kept you that way because you were HAPPY! Don't mess with something that works right?!?!

So onto the things that you do at 18 months:

- You are 24 lbs (34%), 32 inches (70%) and 99% for head.

-You LOVE to eat mostly anything including veggies. Your favorites are broccoli and asparagus. The only things you don't really like is mac and cheese and cheese. Which sister loves. You are addicted to fruit and veggies pouches.

- Love to give hugs, kisses, and blow kisses.

- On occasion you will say hi to strangers but will do it all the time to us

- You say hi, bye, "night-night", down, up, dada, eat, yea, no(shakes head), will attempt to count to 3 if we start it.

-You will copy when asked "Thank you", down please, open, bye bye { they all sound the same right but he tries}, working on body parts; will do eyes, head, mouth, and ears.

- You "talk" all the time but wine ALOT too. We are working on words….

- LOVE to run and jump on people, tackle, and just be a boy

- Love to sing, clap and peek a boo

Love TV: Yo Gabba and Micky Mouse are your favorites

- Love to play with shoes, cars, trains, anything musical, and sister's dress up clothes.

- LOVE preschool and your teachers.

- Loves his sister and playing. They play great together for the most part. We work on not pulling hair and tackling her.

- GREAT sleeper. We laugh because you take a good 3 hour plus nap a day and sleep from 7-7 every night. It is rare for you wake up in the night.

- Currently wearing 18-24 month shirts and some 2Ts, 18-24 month pants and size 4 diapers

- wear size 7 shoes (big feet!)

- Love your adorable BLUE eyes!!!

- Have all your teeth including those 2 year molars. Dude starting getting those teeth EARLY.

- Your hair grows fast and is getting dark like Daddys. We are thinking it will be dark brown or black eventually.

You are such a BLESSING Randolph Jay Lee III. Our family wouldn't be complete with out you.

Little of this, Little of that...

Here are some things we have been up to lately. Thanks to the iphone, I captured it. :)

In November we ran the Multiple Myeloma 5K in memory of my MIL. My goal was to run it and I ended up getting 2nd in my age group. Now, I need to just sign up for another one so it will keep me motivated to run. My mom pushed the kids. Thankful for friends and family that joined us.

Busy time of the year for my little business. Spending many nights editing and making Christmas cards for clients. Now only to find the time to take my own kiddos pictures and christmas cards….

This little guy cracks us up! Eats a TON. Loves broccoli and asparagus. Hard to believe he is 18 months! {Post coming soon on that}

Met sweet Max just hours after he was born. He is now a little brother to one of Payton's friends and proud parents, our friends Andy and Amanda. I will be taking pictures Friday!

Sibling LOVE. Jay was saying "EEEES" for me.

One of my projects thanks to Pinterest. I needed something to do with stocking due to a certain little monkey climbing everywhere.

Oh and here is Tom again. He joined our family last year but Payton is ALL about him this year! So much that she a little afraid to be "bad".

She constantly asks us if she has had a good day.

Thanksmas

Thanksgiving + Christmas = Thanksmas

Yep, we celebrated BOTH today! Our family will be various locations over Christmas so we celebrated today.

We had fun just hanging with family.

I'm thankful for my sweet Leefam4 and all my Hubbard family that came to our house. Missed the ones that couldn't be here but know they had fun celebrating with their families too!

Pink Pig

A few weeks ago our play group headed to the Pink Pig at Lenox Mall. We went last year and had fun. It is a great Atlanta tradition.

Remember the Little Things...

So this week, Randy and I were looking back at our blog and seeing how much Payton has grown. We were also looking at her 18 months stats and comparing them to Jay. Shame on us! I know parents aren't suppose to compare but it's true, we do. But at the same time, I'm learning fast that there is a HUGE difference between boys and girls. Yes, being an educator, I know that boys and girls learn and mature differently and at a different rate. However, Jay keeps me on my toes! B.U.S.Y. And as well, big sister is getting ever so sassy. So needless to say, by my bedtime. I'm done.

So this picture makes me laugh. I was SO good with the blog when Payton was 18 months old and was really enjoying reading all the posts and updates last night. So I promise to continue to blog and post more. I feel that I have gotten lazy and need to remember to just "snap" some pictures so that I have it for us. After all, this blog is like my kid's baby books!

Jay loves hats and also wearing Daddy's. He also started to enjoy putting everyone's shoes on. Hence, the picture. Cracks me up!

He also has started to take his clothes off while in his crib. The reason why he is chillin' in his onsie. A onsie is now a MUST under his clothes or pjs due to his shipping talents. He hasn't tried the diaper but I don't want to find out! After all, he is a boy and I feel that sometimes, all he does is poop. :)

He also has really started to "talk". He has been "talking" for a while but now he is trying to repeat what we say. When I said "Cheese", his response was EEEES with a smile! We have also noticed his receptive language is increasing as well.

Here is sweet sister! She is always a step in front or behind Jay. They play well {most of the time} and I love their sweet bond they have.

So here is my goal…

Hawaii {Parents ONLY}

So…I should be editing photos but instead I was catching up on reading blogs. Then I realized I should be catching up on my blog. Shame on me! I have been so lazy about posting on my own blog. Sorry, I have been super busy but there is no excuse. A week ago, Randy and I returned from Hawaii. Yes, you heard that right. Randy was going for work and I couldn't pass up an vacation with my husband with NO kids. That's right….kidless for 8 days. Yes, we missed them TONS but it was SO nice to read books, watch my own tv shows, take long showers, eat adult dinners, sit in silence, should I keep going? Oh, carry an actual purse, wear make up, blow dry my hair, leave my hair down {with out a toddler pulling it}. Okay you get the picture! So now on to pictures…

Jealous yet? This was the view from our beach at the hotel. We stayed in Maui at the Grand Wailea Hotel. It was AMAZING! We would have never had the opportunity to stay there if it wasn't for my husband's work. It was SO nice, we never left to go anywhere else but to eat. I mean, I had the beach, snorkeling, paddle boarding, khakiing, tropical drinks, and too many pools to choose from.

Now paddle boarding..this was WAY harder than it looked. Talk about core body workouts. This guy looks looked like a pro. I looked like a crazy person trying to balance on a board. However, I did manage to stay up for a while and did it a few times. We enjoyed snorkeling off the beach and even saw a HUGE turtle. While Randy was working, I had plenty of time to read books, edit photos, and just enjoy being a girl. I read TWO whole books which was awesome. I keep telling myself, I need to read more and I have a HUGE stack ready to be read.

I love this shot. There was a lawn at the hotel. We were sitting there just watching the sun go down. Just breath taking.

Until I got picked to be on stage to dance. Not cool. But at least I only knew like 5 people.

It was an AMAZING trip! Loved being with my husband and having some great quality time with him. We are so lucky and blessed that my mom took care of our kids. I know she was TIRED but happy to see us when we returned. I dream of this view often.

Happy Halloween

We had a great night with Trick or Treating and passing out candy! Payton was Super Girl and Jay was a Ninja. I walked with both kids for a few houses until ay figured out that there was candy in his bag and he wanted some. Payton and I walked a little bit but there only so many houses with their lights on. I think there were more trick or treaters than people passing out candy! Payton enjoyed helping afterwards so everyone was happy.

Daddy was a Chicago fan with his hat and shirt. Love it. My three favorite people!

I know I have been MIA on the blog but Randy and I just returned from a week in Hawaii. Pictures to come. Oh and I got a Mac Book Pro. Use MarsEdit as I type for blogging. We will see if I get use to it. Miss my Windows Live. :(

Big Sister Spot Light

Thought I would do a post all about Big Sister! Now that she is big and past her milestones {as a baby}, I never do any post about Payton. A few months ago, SheShe Made clothing contacted me to take a picture of an outfit for Halloween. For the picture, Payton got an adorable outfit that I know she will enjoy wearing for the month of October! Check out their website and facebook for some adorable clothes.

All About Payton Ann…

You’re 3 1/2 years old and talk about your birthday often. Always wanting to know how many birthdays you will have. You REALLY want to be 4 because that means you get to do tap dance at ballet next year. You see all the 4 year olds come out of class before you and you want to be in their class!
You are the BEST big sister. You love Jay so much. You often want to be the mommy and tell him want to do but most of the time you are sweet with him. You tolerate his hair pulling, body slams, and little nibbles well.

You LOVE to sing songs. Daddy always is singing something and you can remember the tune and sometimes the words well! I love that you sing along to The Fish {Christine Rock} in the car and always ask for it.
You LOVE preschool. This year you are in the Marvelous Monkey’s class three days a week and a Bible Buddies 1 day a week. I love that you have a bible class and you are learning so much. On top of that you enjoy music, spanish, and chapel. You even love that Nana is the Pastor in chapel. {She loves it too!}

You love to talk. Ah….yes talk. All.The.Time! You often will just talk and ask questions that you already know the answers to. I know this is your age but sometimes it can be a little much. However, you love to talk to your brother and enjoy talking on the phone to family.
You are STILL a picky eater. Now that you are 3 we have made you eat what we eat and it is hard at times. Your brother eats anything but you will stand your ground. You have been that way since birth. :)

You are total GIRL! You love to wear dresses, skirts, and all things girly. You often have an opinion on what you wear and would wear dresses with no leggings every.single.day if I let you. You enjoy dressing up and wearing princess shoes.
You are now wearing panties to bed and no pull-ups!!! This took some time and some explaining to do because you wanted to wear underwear to bed SO bad but after 5 nights dry, you are now wearing panties. You are so proud when you wake up too. :)

You love to ask about your family and everyone’s names. You are starting to ask how do you spell everyone’s name. You can copy your name too when it is written down in front of you.
You are very social and always want to be with your friends. When I come to get you on Wednesdays night at church you pretty much tell me to go away because it isn’t over yet!
You have a good understanding of Heaven for 3. Or least I think you do. We talk about Grandma Lee often and how she went to be with Jesus before you were born. You always ask what she is doing there and who with. We are honest in saying she died to be with Jesus but that we will have many more birthdays before we go to heaven. We answer questions as they come. :)

You are our sassy, princess loving, chatty Cathy, big sister, Irish girl, curly haired daughter and we LOVE everything about you.

My Brother Gets Married!

Last week The Lee Family headed to Newport Rhode Island for my big brother’s wedding. We have been planning this for a while and talking about it a lot so we were SUPER excited about it! It is ALL Payton talked about since she was the flower girl and Jay was the ring bearer. Of course, I brought my camera. Can’t go to a wedding with out. However, I didn’t get as many as I wanted from the actual wedding due to chasing around two kiddos. I have never been to Rhode Island so it was super fun to check out Newport as well.

We flew into Boston, ate a yummy “Boston” lunch and then headed to Newport. We survived the plane ride up there with a 15 month being past back and forth over the 3 year old that was content watching movies on the ipad. Jay…not so much.

Friday night we made The Hubbard Family side and ate dinner. It was fun for all of us to chat and relax with my brother. The Bride was off to her Bachelorette Party. It was great to see my cousin Julia. I know I have mentioned her before on here but she is a SUPER athletic runner and has a great BLOG that is WAY more entertaining than mine. You should check it out! She is the only reason {well maybe another friend too} that I’m attempting to run a 5k.

Saturday was just a morning of walking around Newport before the rehearsal and dinner. Randy found a great locals breakfast place that wasn't in the middle of Newport and it was a fun way for just us Leefam4 to relax. We made sure to get naps in before heading over to the rehearsal. Let’s just say it isn’t easy to get two kids napping in a small hotel room but we managed.

I took photos for the rehearsal and dinner. We are having a celebration cocktails in October for Spencer and Meredith for all the ATL friends and family. Where they got married was PERFECT!

We then headed the Naval Officer’s club for dinner. We got to enjoy some great time with family and even an awesome sunset!

On Sunday Payton and I got our hair done and makeup. She was super excited to have her hair done just like mine and that I put some of my make up on her. She is always beautiful to me but BOY did she look PRETTY! Jay was with Randy and he was SUPER handsome.

Of course the boy cousins enjoyed themselves.

We had a great time at the reception. Payton was a DANCER! She didn’t want anything to do with us and wanted to dance with all the “big kids”. She danced till the lights came on! Jay was SO tired that he went to sleep in his stroller with all the loud music and slept the whole night. Made our night a lot more enjoyable.

We were sad to leave Newport but happy to get home to our cozy beds. Jay was DONE by the time we got on the plane. Lets just say we were THOSE parents with a fussy crying baby. I think we both decided we will drive on our next trip…

Babies, Babies, Babies…

Last month our playgroup had a “Playgroup Baby Shower” for two of our mommies. Yes, Amie is having her sweet BOY tomorrow and Amanda is due in November. It is both their second so thought they could use all the “extras” that comes with a newborn. You know, diapers, wipes, diaper cream, lotions, soaps, and DVDs for the Big Brother and Big Sister!

We had a fun relaxing morning and the kids enjoy playing together as always!

End of Summer Bash {St. Simons Island Style}

Right before Labor Day weekend, I had the pleasure of going to St. Simons Island with my kids and some other amazing other moms and their kids. We went for the whole week and it was so much fun. Since Randy travels, it didn't really matter to me if we were home. Much better to be surrounded by other moms than sitting home alone! It was a great way to end the summer before preschool started for our all our kids. You might think we are crazy. You know, 4 moms, 5 kids, and 1 beach house but it was worth it with all the amazing memories we made.

I only took pictures at the beach one day . You know I like to think I’m super mom but really I was chasing two kids around and hoping they don’t drown. The rest of the pictures are on my iphone so hopefully one of these days I will download them to share. It was fun busy days at the beach and then we would put the kids to bed and have our own Girls Night In, just us moms. We shared our wedding albums and just enjoy each others company.

First Day of Preschool {2011}

Today was the kid’s first day of school at Seeds of Faith Preschool. It is such a blessing to have a great preschool at our church. Payton loves it and I know Jay will love it this year.

Jay is going to the Ondergarden class sand goes Tuesday and Thursday mornings. I think it will be great for him since he is only use to being home with me.

Here he is attempting to wear his backpack. As you can see it is a little heavy. :)

Payton is going to be in the Marvelous Monkey’s class this year and going Monday-Thursday. Twice as many days as last year but I think it is good for her. We have a great playgroup that I know she will miss her buddies but she sees them at school. We hope to get together on some Friday’s still. However, Jay and I will still go on some play dates.

So…only a few weeks behind for my sweet boy but I’m determined to keep my updates on him. Wow…so much has changed since Jay has turned 1 year old and needless to say he is a SUPER busy boy!

Side Note: I was practicing with my new backdrop for my clients so my kids get to be my models at times.

What’s New with Jay, Jay-Jay, Jay Bird, Little Dude, Buddy, Bud, Brother, and I’m sure many, many more…

Since your birthday, you are a TOTAL walker! You even attempt to run now which is funny because you end up falling.
Now that you are walking, you are a climber! Man, I think you are going to scare us with your ability to reach and climb.
You “Talk” alot. You love to have conversations with us but I have no clue what you say. You do imitate sounds and wave bye bye {finally} when asked. You understand alot of what we say receptively and I know those words are going to come any day now.
You love music and are starting to copy hand motions. You love peek-a-boo and will do it with us. You think it is SO funny.

You LOVE to eat. I mean it. I feel like you eat all.the.time. You pretty much will eat anything. The only thing I dont think you like is mac and cheese and eggs which is funny to me. Daddy calls you “meat” just cause you seem to love it.
You wear size 18 months clothes and size 6 shoe. I feel like you are growing up so fast! Currently in size 4 Luv diapers. Probally weight around 24 lbs.
You have had 3 hair cuts already. I am still getting use to this since your sister has had only 3 total. Difference between boys and girls. I think your hair will be dark like Daddy.
You have freckles on your nose and some on your legs. Payton just got her freckles this summer so I’m thinking you might be just like your Mama on this one. Sorry Buddy!
You have SUPER sensitive skin. Totally from both of your parents. You had a rash this summer and the doctor gave us some lotion which cleared it up. But we think you might be sensitive to grass and maybe allergic to strawberries and chocolate. Unfortunately there is no way to know right now.

From the picture above, you are super strong but at the same time our little sensitive boy. You are my cuddly baby boy that loves to baby-wear in my sling or wrap. You are just content with me carrying you around in it.
You nap in the afternoons only for at least 2 hrs or more. You sleep from 7:30-7:30 and never really wake up in the night. You have to sleep with your sock monkey and doggie.
We have started a bedtime routine of reading a book, songs, and prayers now and you love it. It gives us some time together.
TOMORROW you start preschool at Seeds of Faith Preschool. I know you will do great. I just hope you are sweet and dont attempt to bite or push anyone. You are guilty of this at home. :) You are going to go two days a week in their “Onedergarden” class.

You are such a blessing to our family!!! It is so fun to watch you blossom into a sweet little boy. :)

This past weekend was super busy but totally worth it! I headed to Women of Faith on Friday morning with 27 other amazing women from my church. Us suburban moms all headed to downtown Atlanta. First a little back story…I found out that Angie Smith from Bring the Rain was speaking at Women of Faith and thought it would be great to hear her! Another friend from church loved her blog and book as well and so we started planning. Little did I know that would lead me to organizing a group from my church and have a fabulous time. God loves for us to step out of our comfort zone and boy did I.

We planned for a while and even got hotel rooms for us to stay downtown. Uh…yes please! It was fun to be surrounded about some wonderful women and 8,000 other Christian women as well!

The music for the weekend besides the great praise team was Natalie Grant, Mary Mary, and Laura Story. All great Christian artists. Oh and Angie Smith did awesome! Brought the whole place to tears and shared such a great message.

After my wonderful weekend away I headed to the Braves vs Cubs game with my sweet family and brother-in-law Ryan. It was Jay’s first baseball game.

Yup, we’re a cubs family. We lasted about two hours which was pretty good in our book with two kids 3 and under!

July Wrap-up

Since I was a blogger slacker, I thought I would just post about the fun things in July besides vacation all in one post! In July BOTH kids went to Mothers Morning Out. It was nice that Jay got to attend and see what it would be like for him when school starts. During my Tuesday and Thursday mornings, I held a Summer Special for my photography and so I would work while they were at school. That was reason, I didn’t blog that much! :)

We belong to a great playgroup that meets once a week and sometimes we meet more for walks or lunch. We met one Friday to go Bowling! It was fun because my Dad was in town and he watched Jay for me. This was a great “Big Kid” Playdate. Payton had fun with her friends and fun being me {well I hope she did!}.

They had the bumpers up and a ramp for the kids. The only people bowling were kids so they turned down the lights and disco lights on!

It was super fun and we are so blessed to have such a great group of moms and kids! I know that I am super blessed with their friendships. It’s exciting as our group grows in numbers with babies on the way!

That same weekend, my Dad visited us while Randy was off with my brother at his Bachelor Party. It was his birthday so Payton and I made him a cake! Yes, there is always time for dress-up in this house.

The kids loved having Papaw all weekend long!

To wrap up the month of July…this is what happens when a 3 year old is given a pen to write with. What was I thinking?

Summer Vacation

Wanted to make sure to include the rest of our pictures from our trip to Florida. We headed down to Orlando for a few days with Poppy and Grammie. Since we were there for just a few days of course we had to do a FULL day of Disney. This time, Payton was SUPER excited and knew all the things she wanted to do. Jay had fun too! He enjoyed riding along with us on the rides. Randy and I enjoyed Space Mountain and Splash Mountain. We were a little bummed because Payton was 1/2 inch too short for Splash Mountain. Boo! Now all she talks about is going back to ride it and how big she will be. I’m sure we will back in the next year.

We stayed at the Hilton by Sea World so our breakfast included a visit from Shamu. Payton wasn’t too sure about him but was big enough to take her picture.

Jay sleeping in the bathroom. There was a door shutting him off and he would peek out at the end. Sweet boy.

After Orlando we headed to Tampa to Kristi and Dave’s wedding. We never made it to the beach due to time and weather but we had fun at the pool and hanging with family! Payton enjoyed all the big kids and even sat at the big kid table for the reception. She was so cool that she didn't even want to dance with us!

Yes, it has been way too long since I blogged. Too busy with being a mom and a photographer. So I finally got to downloading pictures from our vacation a few weeks ago. Since we drove to Florida, we couldn’t pass up the chance to spend the day at the Most Magical Place on Earth!

I’m here! We just returned from vacation and now I have have 4 photo sessions this week. So I’m here just not here on this blog. Editing away and love it!

Thought I would leave you with this.

Before we left for vacation, a friend of my mom’s was babysitting a baby pot belly pig. She brought it over to the church for Payton to see. You know since Pigs are her favorite animal.

So far, the Pig is still her favorite animal. She was a little shy but seemed to enjoy herself!

July 4th

This past weekend we celebrated 4th of July with a parade with friends followed by a evening of good food. We were planning fireworks but it started to rain. Luckily we had done a few sparklers on Saturday night!

The kids had fun playing before the parade. The parade was a fun local parade here in Douglasville. Boy it was HOT! Our friends’ son is named Peyton so both Payton and Peyton had a great time together.

Jay had a blast just hanging out in the grass. Doesn’t he look like a big boy here? Seriously.

Oh and big sister. Can’t get enough of her sweet eyes. They sparkle in every picture I take! {I heart them so!}

Camping with Daddy

In the comfort of our own backyard.

First, I want to say that I am participating in the Jenna’s Journey Commenting Challenge. It is a fun way to get to read more blogs out there and see what other women/moms have to say! Go check it out and see what it is all about.

So Payton asked Daddy if they could camp in the backyard and so they did on Friday night. I think Randy was just as excited as Payton. It was fun to watch them and check on them. It was also fun to go back into the house and feel the AC. :)

Payton loved her new sleeping bag and playing cards with Daddy. She even got him playing a modified version of Life. They attempted roasted marshmallows but Payton preferred them “not grilled”. Jay got to visit the tent as well. He didn’t stay long due to be interested in the rocks.

Here is Payton and Daddy enjoying their tent. They made it through the whole night sleeping. We hope to actually go camping in the fall but we might need two tents with this family!

Birthday Day

Last Saturday was my 31st birthday. It just happen to land on a Saturday! Whoo-hoo. I woke up to my sweet girl wishing me a happy birthday and my husband making me breakfast. Plus I got to sleep past 8am. Glorious! The night before we celebrated just us Leefam4 and had yummy double doozie cookie cake. Eating healthy? What?!?

Thursday night I had Girl’s Night Out and we headed to the Fork and Screen to see Bridesmaids. It was such a fun theater where you can eat dinner, drink adult beverages, and watch the movie. My sweet girls gave me a gift card to get my nails done! Such sweethearts. I really don’t know what I do with out these great girlfriends. Such a great support system for us mommies.

So back to Saturday. We headed to my mom’s house for lunch and birthday cake. I think Payton was just as excited or more to celebrate my birthday.

Going with tradition, my mom got a Carvel Ice cream cake. Yum! Straight from the actual store.

I think this one above might one of my favorites with my sweet little girl.

Oh and this little guy. He didn’t know it was my birthday but sure enjoyed some ice cream cake. Don’t you love his outfit? His Nana gave it to him for his birthday.

After lunch, we left the two cuties with my mom and we went on an afternoon date and dinner! We got pedicures, a little shopping, and Sushi. First time I had real sushi since Jay. It was super yummy.

Princess Camp

Last week was super busy! We had VBS {more on that later} and Payton started her Princess Camp at Douglasville School Ballet. It is only two weeks twice a week but we thought it was a good way to see if she wants to take Ballet in the fall. So far, she loves it! I only know what she tells me because I don’t go in with her. Such a big girl! She says they play, dance, color, and sing songs. Next week, on Thursday we get to see a little performance at the end of class! I took some pictures before her first day. She was just has excited to wear her ballet clothes and shoes as going. I’m glad I had purchased the leotard and skirt a while ago for cheap as dress up clothes. If she decides to go in the fall, we will get some more! Plus, who knew you get your ballet shoes at Payless? The things I learn as a mom. :) Enjoy the sweet pictures of my little ballet dancer!

Jay had to get in on the action too. He and I get an hour to run some errands while sissy is at ballet. :) {oh and he is my little trash man. See the trash in his hands?}

Father’s Day in Blackberry Pictures

Yep, didn’t have my camera or my diaper bag camera with me on Sunday so I took pictures with my blackberry. Got the job done!

I got up and made breakfast for Randy and had a few treats for him with cards from the kids. We then headed to church. After church we headed to Pappasitos! Yum. We love it there. We loved it so much that we had our wedding rehearsal dinner there almost five years ago. So good! We then headed up to the outlets to do a little shopping. We were almost half way there with lunch so we kept going.

Doesn’t he look like a big boy? Gosh he turns one and looks like a toddler.

Payton was cold. Really it was only like 94 degrees outside?

Last Tuesday was Randy’s birthday! It was a low key birthday because well our kids were sick. Yep, two trips to the doctor and they BOTH had strep. Fun stuff.

Ha! I love this photo. I felt like Jay at the doctor’s office after waiting forever. Payton never really acted sick but she sure was. So now we are hoping to kill Strep and have it be gone forever!

Monday Payton and I made Randy’s birthday cake. Chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. Yum! I helped Payton pick out a few of Randy’s favorites at Marshalls in the gourmet section as his gift from the kids. Even better with a homemade card!

Yep, that’s how old my big girl is. She seems to be growing like a weed. Saturday morning she seemed like a big girl to me so I had to take her picture. We went to run errands, “just us girls”. She loved every second of it. She loved that it was just us and “the boys” were at home, she loved that she didn’t have to sit in the carts and walked, and she loved having my full undivided attention. I loved it too. I have to remember to do this more often!

Last week we enjoyed eating dinner outside. I love being able to enjoy a family dinner in our backyard. Even though it’s super hot in the summer, the shade comes over our backyard and makes it a great place to be in the evenings! Since we were outside, I let Jay feed himself. He really enjoyed baked beans. Since he was such a mess, we bathed him outside!

Playgroup BBQ

Saturday night we hosted a BBQ for all the playgroup families. Basically us moms wanted to get everyone together including the dads! It was a fun night of talking, playing in the backyard and eating. Yum!

We talked Peyton into seeing if there was a bug in my camera. Yes, he sports the same name as my Payton. They call each other Girl Payton and Boy Peyton. Isn’t is cute?!?

Look Hoo’s Turning One!

Last Sunday we celebrated Jay’s birthday. We had family and friends over for a BBQ and backyard fun. All the kids enjoyed playing outside. It was later in the afternoon so it was nice and shaded on a hot day! Jay was a little over whelmed with all the people but enjoyed his cake, presents, and playing outside. He went to bed VERY easily after the party! We were lucky to have my dad and step mom staying with us and Payton had a blast with everyone around. She was excited to celebrate her brother’s birthday.

I tried to make collages to reduce the amount of photos. I had a “Sweet Treats” table and was happy how it all turned out. My original plan was to make just marshmallow pops because it they look cute and they are easy but Randy was willing to help me make cake pops! They were hard and some only survived as cake balls but they were a hit. I think the kids would have eaten all of it. I ordered the cupcakes at Publix and you get a free smash cake. I have learned the hard way to order over the phone and to ask them to do something they don’t have a picture of. So I made my own cupcake toppers. I love being crafty but always thinking of ways to not spend too much. The pales are from the dollar bin at Target and I made my own labels. The piñata was a BIG hit and it was the kind where they just pull a string. No bat and one less stressed mommy. :) Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Wow, hard to believe our Jay is One!! My has the year gone by. I’m combining our birthday DAY celebration pictures with 1 year post. So here it goes…

Jay, Jay Bird, Jay Jay, Buddy, Brother, Dude, Little Dude,

My how you have blessed our family! You were are little butter ball the day you arrived at 9lbs 6.8 oz. I remember exactly because I was monitored for the last 6 weeks due to measuring 4 weeks ahead of schedule and fluid. I didn’t mind one bit because I got weekly ultrasounds and I wanted to make sure you were okay! You have fit into our family perfectly. Your sister loves you so much and you show such sweet love and affection to her. You are my cuddle bug baby. Each night, I sit with you and you cuddle with me before I put you in your crib. I love it so much! You also give us cuddles just because which is the best ever.

We ate yummy Mexican for your birthday. That is such a Lee thing to do so it felt right for us to celebrate that way! You love food and pretty much will eat anything. I love that you are such a great eater. You love whole milk and drink out a sippy cup. You never really loved bottles, so it was easy to do away with them.

You are a good little sleeper but it takes you a little bit to get to sleep. Unlike your sister, your not a fan of a pacifier so crying is normal. You have your sock monkey (from your Aunt Beth) and your dog pillow (from your Uncle Ryan) you cuddle up with each night. Along with the noise machine, those are a must in your crib.

We headed to Build A Bear after lunch on your birthday and sister made you a bear! She enjoyed doing this for you and Rory now sleeps in your crib with you. He roars just like Payton’s bear Lucky that she made when you were born.

You are a busy boy at 1 year old. Your not walking…yet. You love to stand in the middle of the room for minutes at a time and soon realize it is faster to crawl. You do cruise around and have to started to climb. We think you have super long arms because you snatch things up fast!

You love playing with your sister and toys! We thought you needed some “boy toys” so you got cars and a fun ramp. I think your sister loves them too. You love to “talk”, clap, and scream to get our attention. We are working on waving and saying some words. Yes, that is Christmas paper, it was all I had. :)

At your 1 year well check up, you did great till the shots. I thought the nurse could have been a little bit faster on those! Dr. Fox said that you were one healthy little boy.

Just a Peek.

Jay had a great birthday! We just relaxed as a family and met my mom for lunch. We then celebrated at home. Love his face while eating his yummy cupcake. More pictures to come! We are looking forward to our family and friends celebrating on Sunday.

We been busy with end of the year celebrations, Girls Night Out, Small Group, and just enjoying the spring weather {really feels like summer}. Last week Payton had her Spring Performance. She did GREAT and sang every song. Only a few nose picks this time! We made sure to get there early and had front row seats and Daddy was home which made it extra special. We went for ice cream afterwards to celebrate! Gotta love her school shirt being too big, we went for the 80’s look to pull it off. :) Oh and total diaper bag camera here, two kids and one of them being a super wiggly boy makes it hard to bring the nice camera out to play!

Friday night I had a Girls Night Out with some amazing moms. It was our playgroup moms with out the kids. We celebrated Jackie’s birthday by getting pedicures and eating at Blue Agave. They have a great patio and we stayed till they kicked us out! There was some great people watching with these yummy drinks going around. So much that when I took this picture, some ladies behind me about tipped their table over. Can’t you tell by Jackie’s face? Lets just hope they got a ride home!

We ate at the Country Club yesterday for lunch with my mom. Payton wanted me to take her picture with her brother. She was being super sweet with him. Gosh they are getting big.

Today Jay and I ran errands for his birthday party and then headed back to school for Payton’s end of the school year picnic. Thursday is her last day of school. They asked me to sub in her classroom on Thursday and I said sure. Funny thing is, Payton doesn't want me in there! Miss Independent! I’m sure she will forget when she sees her friends. Jay enjoyed making a mess. It was Ms Eden’s last day, so we made sure to get a picture!

It’s a busy week that I wouldn’t trade for the world to be home with my kids. This weekend will be fun for Jay, celebrating his birthday with family and friends.

In the final days of the Ocean Buddies Class, Payton had dress up day today! If you know Payton, she LOVES to dress up. I had to help her pick something that would work for school and lunch bunch today. Otherwise she would have had on dress up shoes, earrings, crown, and fairy wings. A little hard to be on the playground with all that on plus in her carseat! So we did a “modified” outfit. She was just as pleased!

Payton got a copy of her class picture today. Her fall class picture, she was sick so I was happy to have this copy. I took a picture of a picture so please don't mind the quality. Just wanted to share for our journaling. I know she will miss her teachers after next week but she is going to Mothers Morning Out this summer for two days a week. It is pretty much like summer camp! If little brother gets moving on the walking, he will join her in July! Then come September they will both be in preschool. Wow. Payton will be going 4 days a week and Jay will be going 2 days a week. Two mornings alone. What’s a mom to do!?! {ALOT!}

Mommy Workout 101

I have been wanting to write this for a while and just got around to take the silly pictures. Plus this week, I have walked a total of 10.5 miles plus mowing the grass. Lets just hope the scale goes in the right direction tomorrow morning! Really wishing I had those nursing calories right now….

So I know as a mom, it is challenging to do anything for yourself and when you DO get that time alone, the last thing you want to do is workout. I use to belong to Gold’s Gym then switched to LA Fitness and then quit my job to stay home with my kids. When asking them about childcare, it basically was the same cost to have them in childcare at the gym as it was to workout! No thank you! So now comes to my “Mommy Workout”. I’m all about doing my workout while the kids are awake! I enjoy my naptime as “me time” or do other things besides working out.

During the warm seasons, my workout is walking outside with my kids in the double stroller. I live in the south, so that is Spring, Summer, Fall, and some Winter. The rest of the time is boring workout DVDs and Mall Walking. Don’t laugh, cute young moms are bring back some Mall Walking with all the retired ladies!

Mommy Workout: Stroller Addition

1. Stroller. In my case Double Stroller. I am pushing 50 lbs of kids and the weight of the stroller. So about 70lbs. Who needs weights?!? Best part is, your resistance keeps building as they grow!

2. Snacks and Drinks! No, not for me. For the kids. Gotta keep them entertained. It is a must! Sometimes, I bring the Leapster for Payton but she usually is content with a drink and snack.

Love me some snack traps! It is the best now that Jay has figured out how to use them. Also love these name labels. I put them on everything.

LOVE these sippy cups! Thermos- Foogo are the best! I had the hardest time finding ones that Jay liked and didn't leak! I believe they all leak at some point. Especially when you have a little boy that loves to just toss his sippy cup on the floor when he is done. So messy! He now drinks out of the blue one just fine. Payton loves the pink one because well….its pink and it is a straw. It doesn't leak as long at the lid is shut. They are a little pricey but WORTH it!

I AM cheap when it comes to snacks. My kids have to eat Aldi’s brand “goldfish” aka shark crackers! Ha! I purchase all my pantry food there, very cheap.

3. Music

It is a must to have my ipod. I know I’m not the only mom out there that puts on her headphones and tunes out their kids while on a walk?!?

4. Shoes.

These are not just shoes. They are my Reebok Easy Tones. I found them at Marshell’s for $40. Score! I just upgraded from my Avia Easy Toners. I do fee them working.

5. Sunscreen

Yes, sunscreen is important! I spray myself and the kids down. They wont have farmer’s tan but they may have stroller tan. Just legs!

Okay, now your set for a great walk! My neighborhood is HILLY. I have a nice 2.5 walk and I’m beat afterwards. I’m sure my neighbors think I’m crazy when I’m pushing the kids up those hills. Plus, I walk with other girlfriends. Makes the walk to go by fast. We have walked 4 miles before and it felt like nothing!

Mother’s Day 2011

My Mother’s Day started on Thursday with Payton at her Mother’s Day Tea at Seeds of Faith Preschool. It was a crazy morning and I missed the first five minutes due to a flat tire!!! I was so bummed because they sang a song but luckily my mom was there too! Payton didn't seem to notice so I guess it was okay but I was pretty bothered by it. She was excited to show me what she made. Pretty flower vase with homemade flowers. It currently on my desk in my “office” aka living room.

They then made made me a placemat asking questions about me. It is too funny! Some accurate some not. :)

Nana was happy to be apart of the special tea along with Jay! We then enjoyed a lunch out afterwards. We course had such a great school year because of Payton’s teachers, Ms. Eden and Ms. Mendi. I did catch Ms. Mendi for a picture with Payton. She loves them both so much!

Sunday morning I had two sweet kids and a hubby greeting me in bed with two cute cards and a Starbucks card! Whoo-hoo!!! I love me some Starbucks!!! We went to church and lunch with my mom and friends. After nap time we headed for a walk as a family. My husband then grilled us a yummy meal! So blessed to be a mom and to have such a great mom!

Derby Day

If you didn’t know, the Kentucky Derby was Saturday. Given that both my parents {and the rest of my extended family} are from Louisville, Ky. it is a must to watch for us! My mom had everyone over but it ended up being only me and Payton with the rest of the family. Jay had a strange rash which ended up being Strep. He stayed home with Daddy to rest and not spread germs to his cousin. Strep has stumped me twice now! Either time my kids had it, no sore throats. Really?!?! Anyways…

This big girl spent TWO nights in a row at Nanas! Can you tell that she was tired when I came to pick her up and hang out? I could tell! She gets hyper and starts rolling around on the floor. I made her lay next to me and she fell asleep. Needless to say she missed the actual race! We ate yummy food made by my mom and Uncle and finished the night with my Grandama’s recipe of Derby Pie. Yum!

I didnt come in a dress and that disappointed Payton! Nana bought her a dress and hat for the Derby Party. My mom has hats from both my grandmothers. I love the brown hat that was my Grandma’s Derby Hat. That woman couldn’t make a purchase with out seriously thinking about it. I didn't get that trait { good or bad ?} but my brother sure did! Uncle Brian made yummy Mint Juleps and short ribs. We missed the boys but Randy kept me updated with pictures of Jay and his homemade Mint Juleps. :) For himself of course.

Serenbe

Last weekend we headed to Serenbe for the morning. I had a photo session and we then hung out as a family afterwards. {Check out the photo session out here} It is a community about 25 minutes from our house with cute shops, coffee shop, farms, treehouse, and walking path. I like to think of it as a “all in one community”. Payton thought it was fun and so did we!

We ate yummy sandwiches, coffee, and cupcakes at this little coffee shop. Everything is fresh, organic, and local. Very cool.

I enjoyed window shopping and Randy found a wine store. He was happy as a clam. I enjoyed the shop Repurpose. It was cute with some cool finds. The only problem with it, it made want to find a “purpose” to redo rooms at my house. :)

Payton was all about me taking her picture for some reason and then wanting to see it. Can you tell I use her as my model sometimes?!?

Oh and this little guy was a chillin’ and napping the whole morning out!

Overall, it was a great family day! We will have to head back to Serenbe when they have their farmer’s market. Yum!

I have a lot of tricks to get my kids {and others’ kids} to look at the camera.

I like to randomly say “pickles” or “Yo Gabba Yabba”

I even play and say “don’t you look at me”

But saying there is a bug in my camera was priceless.

She even liked that there might be a bug in my camera.

So much that she wanted to find it!

We even looked together to see if the little bug was really in there!

Jay Bird {11 months}

Oh man, it makes me a little sad to know that you are ALMOST 1 year old! Really, where does time go?!?! This month you have become such a little guy with a personality and an opinion. If you have something in your hand and you don’t want to give it up, you will let us know! You understand that if you cry, grunt, or scream, it gets our attention. Currently you LOVE to throw food on the floor when your eating because you know that Otis will eat it. And the super big thing is your no longer breastfeeding. Bittersweet for me. You love your sister and have enjoyed playing more with her and smile every time she enters the room. You love “talking” and say “dada” for everything. You have gone to Mothers Morning Out a few times this month and of course love it. You must because you always sleep three hours after one of those days!

Here is what you have been up to this month…

Wearing 18 month clothes
Probably almost 20 lbs.
Still in a size 4 diaper
Loves to eat still.
Takes a bottle but it more of a snacker all day long on it. Just found a sippy cup you like and wont leak!
8 teeth {currently working on a molar}
First haircut!!!
Crawling machine but stands independently and starting to cruise.
Sleeps two naps when home but also can take one long nap after a busy morning.
Sleeps from 7:30-8 each night
Not a pacifier lover but to have his lovies in his crib with noise machine.
Even though your not BFing, your still my cuddle bug!!!

Easter

We woke up early and let the kids check out their goodies. We made sure to head to 9:30 service so we could be home early and get lunch ready. We haven't been going to 9:30 because were were lazy and enjoying the mornings before 11:00 service. Boy, I sure do miss 9:30 service and the music. It is contemporary and I love the music. Anyways Payton had fun checking out her stuff.

Jay enjoyed his Easter basket too! He got some boy toys and enjoyed playing with his new matchbox cars.

We did manage some pictures before lunch!

We had Brian, Johanna, and Dylan with my mom over lunch. Randy made beer can chicken and fresh corn! Yum!

I love this last picture. The kids just playing the playhouse. Payton looks like she is in charge and boys are just working away. :)

Twas’ the Night before Easter…

We had a little girl in our house that was thoroughly enjoying Easter. We made sure to also share the story of Jesus and that Easter was a special day for him. We talked about it in the car and at night before bed. We read stories. She seem to understand as much as she could for being three. She knows that Jesus is in heaven with Grandma Lee and Baby Tucker. Tucker was a sweet baby in our church that went to be with Jesus after three months here on earth. He was such an amazing baby and fighter for the short months he was here. Payton knows his big sister and occasionally prays for Tucker. Anyways, we still also participate in the Easter bunny and Easter eggs here! Just want to make sure our kids know the real reason for Easter.

Side Note: I have been debating about watermarking my pictures for this blog. I know people can copy and paste pictures but I know that I also imbed my information in all pictures. You might see the watermark on there, you might not. Just depends on my mood. I figure, if you really want my picture, you will figure out a way. If your family and you like copying pictures from my blog, let me know and I can send the picture over email with out the watermark on it. { I know my brother does this!} Plus, one of these days, I will make another blog book and I dont know if I my watermark on all my pics!

So I’m not a huge fan of food coloring, dye, finger paint, glitter, ect. You get the picture? I was totally up for letting Payton dye Easter eggs but when I realized I didn't have any vinegar, I was a little bit relieved. So…we just put stickers on them, melted the wrappers on them, and I wrote everyone’s names. Payton didnt realize we left out the dying part! Score. 8 eggs kept this girl entertained on Saturday night.

Nothing better than a “Do it Yourself” Easter Egg Hunt. Payton hid them all outside and then found them all herself. Silly girl.

Then while the kids were sleeping in their beds, the Easter Bunny gathered up his goodies and made the baskets! Even made one for Mommy and Daddy. Such a nice guy.

Wednesday we headed to the library for their Easter Egg Hunt. Payton was really excited! It was a little crowded but we managed. Aunt Johanna and cousin Dylan met us there. They made it super easy…

First she only picked up the pink ones, then soon realized she could pick them all up! So funny.

Jay didn't participate this year, he was wrapped on me and helping me take pictures. See?

We did manage one outside. Even though they thought it was going to rain, it turned out to be a great day outside!

Payton had another Easter Egg hunt at school today and I’m sure we will at a few more on Sunday. Can’t wait to share their Easter outfits!! All three of them will match. Sweet cousins.

Okay, so no pictures but will be editing Jay’s birthday pictures and Easter pictures today…so just you wait! I love photographing my kids but it is hard when your alone! My hubby helped with Jay’s pictures and they are A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E! Plus my friend made their Easter outfits, cant wait to share!

My cousin’s blog and her running is rubbing off on me. Along with a friend as well. Yesterday, I ran about a mile (stopped a few times) around a track with the double stroller and then walked through a neighborhood. When all said and done, Jackie and I walked/ran almost 5 miles! Oh and by the way, the whole 3 pounds, I gained from my transitioning to no BF?!? Lost it! Score. Working hard to eat healthy and enjoying this spring weather outside walking, mowing the grass, and attempting to run. When that gets tiring, I will give 30 Day Shred a try.

I just finished my first wedding and as we speak exporting a slide show. Will post on my photo website and FB fan page. I am really proud of myself for shooting a wedding. It was small and just my style.

Payton is stilling working on stickers sloooowwwly. It’s touch and go but we are sticking to our guns. Jay is teething and starting to vocalize his wants and needs. A.K.A screaming and crying when sister takes a toy. At least he knows how to communicate. The hubby is working hard as always!

How to make a Toddler eat in 10 days!

Catchy title huh? My other one was “~~Bribery~~ Positive Reinforcement is BEST”!

So the last two week we have started Payton on a sticker chart for eating her meals just like us. Payton has been a very picky eater and the doctor said to try a sticker chart now that she is three years old. I am queen of sticker charts from teaching and TIRED of fixing Miss Payton something different every.single.meal. So…we gave it a try.

We started by decorating the chart and picking out the stickers. She was really excited. We discussed that we had to fill up the chart and when we were done we got to go to ToysRUs! I made sure to repeat myself that she had to eat the foods that Mommy, Daddy, and Jay eat for lunch and dinner. If we dont, no sticker and straight to bed.

She was excited about this new adventure and thought it was cool to place it on the frig. Before this chart there was lots of crying and yelling at the dinner table. Not so fun.

We made the chart easy for our first time. Payton had five lunches and five dinners to get a sticker. She did well. I am not going to lie. There was some crying and even gagging at the dinner table when it came to vegetables. She eat a hamburger, pork chops, and meatballs! And she liked them after lots of talking and sticker talking.

So started our chart on Monday and filled it up by Sunday and off to the store Payton and Daddy went! They came home with a plastic Tee Ball Set and Soccer ball! Very proud.

So this past week we started ANOTHER sticker chart. The good eating isn't stopping there. So I made it a sticker for each breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 7 days. We have had our good days and bad days. She has gotten comfortable and thought she could try to get away with not eating. So Payton has gone to bed early a few times with no sticker. But the sticker chart seems to still be interesting to her. I hope to fade it out and make eating what we cook normal around here. Wish us luck!

Breastfeeding 101

I have been wanting to do a breastfeeding post for a while but never got around to it. But at last, Jay’s breastfeeding days are over. Sad but true. It was totally him and he was ready. I on the other hand I have mixed emotions. In the past couple of weeks he has been like a monkey and only nursed for short period of times so it was not helping my supply. But I do miss those days where he was nursing and cuddling with me! I proud to say we made it 10 1/2 months!

Okay so I wanted this post to be for my own journaling but also thought maybe this might help other moms out there too! I have stated in the past that I did try to nurse with Payton and she hated every.second.of.it. Our sweet lactation consultant helped me every way possible but after trying for three weeks, I opted to pump. Boy, that only lasted a few months. It is hard to pump multiple times a day and give bottles. Anyways. At the time, I was a new mom, had NO clue what I was doing, and decided to give formula. I had lots regrets later on and felt that I didn't give it a good enough try. Plus formula wasnt cheap! So here comes Jay….total opposite. Even though we had to supplement for a week or so, he actually liked nursing! Yes! I also think I had a better mindset going into it and already knew what it was going to be like. Plus, Denise (LC) was AMAZING! She was not only a lactation consultant, she was like my therapist!!! I love our pediatrics office and breastfeeding center. BEST.THING.EVER! Plus having other moms giving their advice and encouragement was the best.

So here is my tips for breastfeeding.

Give it a good old college try….well more than that because it isnt something that “just happens”. It’s free and best thing for your baby so why not try it?!?
It’s going to hurt. Invest in nipple cream and nipple pads. Sad but true.
Even though it might be hard and time consuming in the beginning, it turns out to be the easiest thing over time. Plus you don't have to worry about carrying bottles around and cleaning them!
BEST.WEIGHT.LOSS.EVER. Between that and me doing weight watchers, the weight came off easy! For the first time in my life, I could eat “carelessly” and didn't gain weight.
Invest in a good nursing cover. I loved my uddercover and it was always in my bag. Plus you can be stylish at the same time.
Get comfortable and creative where you nurse. Car, bathrooms, mall playarea, church nursery, playdates, …I could go on forever.
Love me some Glamour Mom nursing tanks. I have 5 and got them in white, black, and brown long torso. I love them so much that I am still wearing them! I have worn them for almost a year and now dont know what to do with myself! Best for when your out in public, your belly isnt showing.
Stick with it even as they get older through growth spurts and through getting more active. I eventually had to nurse Jay in his room due to the t.v and little sister talking! He would get distracted and think it was an open bar!
Did I mention FREE!?!?!
If you have doubt or questions, you can always call your Lactation Consultant.
After you get settled, start pumping in the mornings for an extra store and try giving a bottle (if comfortable) so you can be away for more than two hours. I had a picky little man and he thought it was cool to not take a bottle. He eventually did but it made it tricky for dates and such.

Okay so now that I am done breastfeeding, my “Operation Remove Baby Weight” is back in play. I had gotten a little comfortable with nursing and eating so now I need to WATCH it! I have gained like three pounds so I am motivated.

So last night I motivated by this salad. Sorry no nursing pictures here. So I took a picture of this salad and also added some yummy chicken to it! Anyone like boiled eggs are your salad? I think it is a great substitute for cheese.

So here is my next goal for weight loss:

To lose those silly 3 pounds and maintain my 30 pound loss from my “Operation Remove Baby Weight”. That is my “wedding weight” and hope to stay there! I am going to step up the workouts and even try The Thirty Day Shed. I have heard it was good. I also like my Jackie Warner Circuit Training dvd too.

First Haircut.

Jay got a big boy hair cut this week! Payton got her hair trimmed as well. It was only her third haircut. Such a difference with boys and girls. Jay’s hair was getting a little wild on the sides and just needed to be trimmed.

I called his little side hair “wings”. They were to long! Marcie cuts Randy’s hair and has done Payton’s hair before. I just don't trust the cheap kid places. Our salon doesn't charge much for kids so it works for us. I gave him a sucker to keep him entertained. Boy did he like that! It was his first one. Payton got one when she was done too.

spring, diaper bag camera, and family.

This was a lazy family weekend but busy for me. I had two photo sessions. I tend to only do one on the weekend but it was raining last weekend so I had to reschedule one. The weather was perfect and my families were GREAT. Lucky that my husband is supporting me and watching the kids. So far my sessions have been during at least one kids nap time, so it is easier on everyone!

The weather was perfect so we enjoyed being in our backyard all weekend. Sunday we ate lunch and dinner out there. I love our backyard and that is comfortable for us to relax and the kids are entertained and safe. Really more like contained too. :) You don't have to worry they are going anywhere!

We for sure know that Jay loves his sissy and loves to EAT! I feel like I have to cut him off sometimes.

I was using the Diaper Bag camera due to my camera being used for photo sessions. I found a trip to the Zoo on it with Sarah Ann and her mommy Jackie. It was from February. I guess I need to check it more often. :) I am sure I have tons of this picture with good old Willie B. Always a good place for a photo.

It was a fun weekend just playing with my kids and sweet hubby. Loving this weather!

Three.

My Sweet Little Girl,

It seems like forever since I have written a post about you and ONLY you!!!! I miss writing these little updates and what you have “been up to”. First of all, you will always be our little girl but you are starting to be such a BIG girl!!! You totally loved your birthday this year and just asked me other day when your birthday was. You were totally disappointed that it was far away.

I think this picture tells it all. You are such a little princess and love to dress up and use your imagination. Just like your mommy {and Daddy} you love to shop and get new outfits. I know we are in trouble when you are older for that one!

At your three year old check up you did not like the shot and finger prick. You remembered the many times that your brother had it done and knew very well that it would hurt. For the first time, you truly fought me on it but soon after you were all smiles. You talked about it for the rest of the day and nursed the boo-boos until bath time. You are one healthy girl in the 75% for weight and height. Even though you are SUPER picky eater, Dr. Fox says you are GREAT!

Here is some details about you at the age of three:

Great sleeper! You gave up naps for a while but lately have been taking them. I will take naps anytime! If you don't nap, you head to bed at 7pm if you do, it is 7:30 or 8.
Fully potty trained with a pull-up at night. You are great about being independent and wanting to do it “all by myself”.
LOVE school. If we let you, you would go every day.
Still a picky eater. {post coming soon on that one}
Love to learn. Lately you are starting to pick out your name on everything. You also look at words and point out the letters in your name. You are starting to ask how to spell our names too.
When you color, you will point out shapes and letters that you “wrote”. They just happen to look like a letter or shape, you notice. You can draw a person and it is super cute.
You truly enjoy singing and dancing. You can remember and carry a tune very well. We are looking into dance for next fall for you!
Love dress up and to put on “tap dancing shoes” aka dress up shoes. You also love to wear “princess dresses” aka a dress. You love that it is spring because I don't make you wear leggings.
Super sweet (mostly) to your brother. You show him love and play with him most of the time. He lights up when he sees you!!! Now you will tell me when he is doing something he isn't suppose to be doing.
Love your friends and play great with them. You talk about them all the time.
Your a routine little girl and do great with that. You will remind us when we forget.
You love to talk!!!! All.the.time. :)

We are so blessed to be your parents and cant wait to see what this year holds for you!!!

Jay {10 Months}

My busy little man,

Hard to believe that in just 2 months you will be ONE! However, for now I will enjoy my little baby and ignore that there is a little birthday coming up. You have been BUSY this month. You are a crawling machine and have decided that standing is the way to go. You pull up on everything and even just started to stand up on your own with out pulling up on anything. Wow. We will see when you decide to walk.

You are a little talker now and just love to babble in the car. You scream and laugh a lot. Pretty much you are a easy going kinda guy. :) You love your sister and enjoy playing and following her around. We have such sweet playgroup friends that you love being around. We are blessed to have such great friends for you and your sister.

What’s up with you @ 10 months:

You wear size 12 months and some size 18 months
Size 4 Luvs diapers
Size 4 shoe
7 teeth. Just got the third bottom tooth this week.
Don't like a pacifier even if I wished you did. You just chew on them.
You take two naps a day when we are home.

You babble. Bababa and Dadada
Nurse three times a day. Morning, late afternoon, and bedtime. You are super busy and need to be alone to nurse. :)
You take a bottle and sippy cup but rather me hold it. Otherwise you tend to play with it.
LOVE to eat!!! You will eat ANYTHING!!! I love it.

Payton 3rd Birthday

Last week was Payton’s birthday and her birthday party! It has been crazy around here and I have been busy with my photo sessions, so I am finally getting around to editing my own personal pictures. :) I hope to not get lazy on my own blog because I love to have it has our little Lee Family journal and for our friends and family to read.

On Payton’s birthday we celebrated by taking cupcakes to her class for snack time. She was SUPER excited about this. It was great that her birthday landed on a Thursday so that she would be at school. She asked all week long when we were taking cupcakes to her preschool friends. Of course she loved that we visited and Daddy came too.

Our tradition with Payton is to take her to the Irish Bread Pub for dinner on her birthday. You know since it is Saint Patrick’s Day and all. :) She was so funny because she kept telling us that Saint Patrick’s Day is on her birthday. We invited our friends the Coyles. Payton loves Ms. Jackie, Mr. David and Sarah Ann. They surprised her with a Princess cake!!! She loved it!

After dinner the pub had music and dancing outside. It was such a great spring night! Payton loved that the fountain that was green with her Irish Princess crown. Jay enjoyed chilling with his daddy. Don’t you love her matching outfits?!?

On Sunday we had Payton’s birthday party at the country club. It was great to have it somewhere else and not worry about cleaning! Payton was so excited for her friends to come and have her Papaw too. We let the kids play “golf” and had a coloring station. Even had toys for the babies! Of course in true Payton style, we offered chicken fingers and fries with a princess cake.

Our not so little girl will be 3 tomorrow. She is so excited that it is like Christmas Eve in this house! All day we have talked about how St. Patrick’s Day is on HER birthday. So silly. She is so excited to take cupcakes to her class tomorrow and be with her preschool friends. She is so excited to celebrate with mommy and daddy tomorrow. And she is so excited to have her birthday party on Sunday. Wow! That is a lot of “excitedness”. The best part is….Mommy and Daddy are kinda excited too. :)

Hard to believe my lucky charm was ever this little….sigh…

Big Eater

Yep, We have a big eater in the family. And he only weights 19lbs.

When he is hungry and in his highchair, you better have some food ready! I wanted to write this for my own journaling. So here is what he has currently tasted and enjoyed.

All fruits in baby food form
Loves the fruit that comes in a pouch too
sweet potatoes, carrots, and other mixed veggies in baby food form
Bananas and pears diced
Meatloaf
roasted butternut squash
pesto pasta with chicken and broccoli (not nuts)
Spanish rice (beans, rice, corn, and tomatoes)
avocado (mashed)
Spaghetti
chicken and chicken nuggets
Pork chops
Pierogies
Steak
Mongolian beef (really?!?)
waffles
pancakes
biscuits and gravy (yes, he loved it just like his daddy)

I am sure there will be more!

I will be honest. It is nice to just give him what we are eating. This is such a different experience than Payton. We tried to give her our food but she was picky from the day she was born. Oh well, she will just live off fruit, cheese, and peanut butter for a little bit longer right?!?

While I was taking these pictures. Jay was following me around. Because well…it was dinner time. He likes to eat right around 5:30. Routine is important in our house! Both my kids work well on it. He then caught me.

Of course Payton wanted in on the action! She was busy sorting while I cooked dinner. She decided to take the sorting to the highest level and sort by category. A.K.A Dump every jar out and then put back where they belong.

This was our dinner. Grilled BBQ Pork Chops and Pierogies with roasted butternut squash and onions. Love meals like this. Less pots and pans to clean!

About birthdays.

Like any little girl, Payton loves birthdays! She totally knows hers is next. We just celebrated my moms and my sisters. So she is next! She talks about her cake, her friends, her party, and everything she wants. She has already told us she wants a pink ipad too. Really?!?! Gees, I don't have one of those! But Daddy does… hmmm. So far on her list is roller skates, tools and a tool box. And no, we didn't put those ideas in her head. She came up with them all on her own. Yesterday Payton and I had a photo session for her birthday pictures. She was my model and she loved dressing up for me. She also loved the fun dip that I gave her when she was done. So as I am up late watching the Oscars and editing her birthday pictures. I leave you with just a few teasers from our modeling session….

And like any good Irish mama would do with a sweet little Irish girl born on St. Patrick’s Day…buy a good birthday dress. (and brother has the matching short john)

Jay: 9 Months

Note: His 9 month pictures were taken while he touched grass for the first time. Given the look on his face in most of these pictures. :)

My sweet little man:

Gosh. It is hard to believe that in just a few months we will be celebrating your birthday! It is a common topic in our house due to your sissy’s birthday coming up soon but yours is soon after.

This month, you are just a BUSY little guy. All over the place. You have figured out the love of crawling fully and enjoy exploring all over the house. We have to remember to shut the bathroom doors, Otis’ crate, big sister’s room, and the baby gate while we are upstairs. You have made showering challenging again for me. If I need one while your awake, I just do it FAST! As well, you have found a voice and started to really babble and “talk”. It so cute!

You have more hair this month and it seems to be darker than sisters. Your eyes are still blue like mommy’s and your skin is sensitive and pale as both mommy and daddy. :) Along with your busyness, you have taken your bumps and bruises like a champ. So far, three busted lips. Really!?! Total boy. Good thing you came second or us parents would have freaked out!

Here is what you have been up to this month:

You still take two naps a day when we are home. Of course if we are out, you take it like a champ and only have one nap when we return home.
Sleep from 7pm-8am
Size 3 diapers size 6-12months and some 12-18 month clothes
Eat three meals a day. We have started some table foods due to the 6 teeth. You love anything that is “snacky” but warming up to feeding yourself fruit and veggies. I think the texture weirds you out. So far the only thing you really dont like is green beans.
Nursing 4 times a day. You are SO busy so we have to nurse in a room with no distractions or sister. :) If we are out, you get a bottle. Just easier.
You will hold your bottle now and take a sippy cup. Pretty good since you dont get many opportunities to use a bottle.

LOVE your sister. You love playing with her and trying to climb on her. Now that you are able, you love to explore her toys and room.
Currently you love to bite on the shoulder when we pick you up. It hurts and you think it is so funny!
Along with your crawling you are starting to pull up on your knees.
You LOVE to cuddle. My favorite thing ever. Almost every day you are in my sling and you are so content being next to me. I love babywearing you. :)

You are such a blessing to our family and make it complete! It is so fun to watch you grow and learn each and every day. At times I want you to SLOW down so I can enjoy it a little bit longer. :)

The GREATEST Show on Earth!

Last Thursday my mom took us to the Circus!

We talked to Payton about the Circus and what will be there. She wanted to know about the animals and was sure there might be a pig there! Sorry honey. No pigs. But we did see lions, elephants, lamas, horses, and a dog.

Before the Circus, Payton and I had a surprise for my mom. She is leaving for vacation and will be gone on her birthday! So we had a card, flowers, balloon, and chocolate covered strawberries for her. Yum! Her gift from the kids was her very own “Nana” coffee mug with their pictures on it. It was requested by Nana herself. :)

My mom treated us first to The Varsity. Such an Atlanta classic. Such a classic that you need to only visit there once a year or longer. Not the healthiest but surely yummy and fun.

It was Jay’s first experience at The Varsity. Payton came about the same age as Jay. He enjoyed the french fries the best.

We had GREAT seats! I even brought my zoom lens and didn't really need it. Ha! We could see everything. Payton did great for the first half and a snow cone kept her entertained the second half. Jay did great and even took a nap for part of it. Again. Moby Wrap rocks!

So thankful for a great Mom that loves to spoil us! Thanks Nana!
